Kelcey is the best UI/UX designer I have ever worked with and I have worked with over a dozen designers at this point in my career. She is very articulate, listens to what the requirements are and turns the vision and design around quickly. Kelcey often knows more or remembers more about the reason behind the design than the business that gave the requirement, often reminding them why she designed it in a certain way. Kelcey is really into the details and wants to make sure that everything is perfect, which is what business needs! She has a great memory and can really stitch an experience together well, keeping everything she knows about the needs of the business and pulling it all together to work well for her customer.

Kelcey is the first person I worked with when I started my role as a UI-UX designer about 18 months ago. I worked on a project with her, and somehow she was able to juggle 2 very difficult roles at the same time – acting as a mentor to someone who had never done UI design before, nor worked with wireframing software, and analyzing a large number of very complex spreadsheets and designing the application screens that would replace them. This was a very complex process, and Kelcey led many meetings with the Business SMEs, DB  designers and Dev leads as the team worked toward the final designs. I almost can’t exaggerate how complex this process was, given the sheer number of spreadsheets and the very complex rules that were configured within each, and Kelcey just moved through the analysis and design of each and confidently led the discussions until all was put together.

In addition to the data analysis and UI design, she took the lead on managing the Agile administrative work of creating stories, assigning tasks and points, and generally making sure that the Daily Scrum work and reporting was taken care of. And on top of that, she had to provide my Axure-101 training and provide direction and corrections to get me up-to-speed with our design software – no small task. 

I haven’t worked directly with Kelcey since that project, but we collaborate with the other UX designers on a weekly basis so that we can all share designs and ask questions of each other. Kelcey is one of the leaders of that call – she is a go-to person when it comes to best practices, good ideas and understanding the complexities and direction of our design process. She always makes herself available for questions and other help as any of the other designers may need. And she is extremely pleasant about it too!

I cannot overstate how great Kelcey is at her job. She actively and successfully works with the Business and other users to understand and define requirements, then applies very insightful UI designs to meet those needs.  We are very fortunate to have such an effective designer as Kelcey – I hope she is with us for a long time to come.
